So You Want To Get A
Tattoo? |
|
|
|
Tattoos are becoming more and more popular every year. As the tattoo
industry grows, so does the art of tattooing and with this growth a
lot of positive changes have taken place. The state of Connecticut
has developed new regulations for tattoo studios to follow in order
to ensure safety for both clients and professional artists. The
different arrays of ink that are available today are brighter,
bolder, and can last longer when taken care of properly. There are
also a wide variety of colors and blends to choose from and because
of various needle groupings, artists are able to achieve better
detail and shading in your tattoo. |
|
Picking A Design For You |
| Take
your time and choose a design that best suits you. The choice you
make will be with you for the rest of your life so make sure that
you are happy with your choice. Most artists can help you with your
decision process and even customize your tattoo in order to make
your ideas come to life. |
|
Where
To Put It |
|
Should you put your tattoo in an area that is less conspicuous? Some
work places look down on tattoos, so be sure to take your profession
into consideration before getting your ink. How big do you want your
tattoo to be? Some people have bigger plans for their art and want
more than one tattoo. If this were the case for you, then you would
want to plan out your ideas with the artist so that you can place
your tattoo in an area where you can add on to it, without making
the final product look out of place. |
|
Choosing An Artist |
| When
searching for an artist, make sure you check out their portfolios.
This is important because the quality of your tattoo depends on the
quality of your artist. If you find a portfolio that appears to be
your style, ask to speak to the artist. Tattoo artists usually have
a certain style in which they excel, but most artists can easily
cross over in different genres of tattoo styles. |
|
How
Much Will This Cost? |
| The
golden rule to always remember is that good tattoos are not cheap
and cheap tattoos are not good. A tattoo is a lifetime investment,
so always remember to shop for quality. You pay for what you get and
what may cost less now just might cost more in the end with
cover-ups, touch-ups, or even a lifetime of dissatisfaction. Why pay
for the same tattoo twice? Always remember that you are paying the
artist for his or her talent and expertise. |
|
Before
Getting Tattooed |
-
Always make sure that the studio and individual workstation are
clean, sterile, and organized.
- Be certain that you see your artist remove new, unused needles and
the tube set-up from a sealed and sterile package.
- Make sure there is an autoclave or sterilizer on premises and that
all employees of the studio have been certified for blood borne
pathogen testing.
- If you have any questions or concerns about the safety of getting
tattooed don’t hesitate to ask your artist. |
